The Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Mr. Ahmed Gulak, has said that Nigeria’s constitution guarantees President Goodluck Jonathan, the right to seek for re-election in 2015.

Gulak said this in an interview with newsmen at a Dinner and Colloquium tagged: “The Transformation of Nigeria as Panacea for Political and Economic Stability”, held in Abuja in honour of Jonathan on Thursday.

He noted that although the president had said that he would decide in 2014 whether to seek a re-election or not, it did not erase the fact that he has the right to do so.

Gulak said, “The Constitution is clear about it, Mr. President has right to contest if that is his wish. Nobody can abridge his constitutional right.

“Everybody has the constitutional right to aspire to the highest office and that includes Mr. President, the constitution does not prevent him.
